Before she kicked off her singing career, Ayumi Hamasaki dabbled in acting, taking several roles in a handful of small pictures. Despite her ability to land jobs, she decided that a career in acting seemed to be more of a chore than it should have been; it was only recently in 2002's Tsuki ni Shizumu -- a short film inspired by one of her songs -- that she picked up the ball again; however, she doesn't seem to be looking to switch careers any time soon.
I've only seen one of her early films (Ladys Ladys!!), and it was a B-movie, to say the least. Although I obviously don't hold that against Ayu -- she was a young actress trying to make a dent in the industry -- I do want to say that her earlier acting jobs are not something every Ayu fan just has to see, so you shouldn't feel like you have to stretch your every resource to track down a copy.
