- Ayu began modeling at the age of seven.
- Before she signed with Avex, Ayu released a single and mini-album as part of a hip-hop group.
- When Disney re-released Snow White in Japan, Ayu covered "Someday My Prince Will Come" for the promotional campaign.
The main character of the popular video game Resident Evil Zero (right) was unofficially modeled after Ayu.- Ayu's moniker "CREA" was adopted after one of her dogs.
- Ayu's first single to hit number one was "LOVE ~Destiny~".
- The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra covered twelve of her songs for a compilation disc.
- As of 2004, Ayu had won the top prize at the Japan Record Awards (similar to the Grammys) a record three times; she is one of only three artists to ever do this, one of the others being Utada Hikaru.
- There is a wax figure of Ayu currently on display at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong. It's specifically designed to make changing hair and clothes easy to better reflect her current style.
- With the release of BLUE BIRD in 2006, Ayu became both the best selling female artist and best selling solo artist in the history of Japan's music industry.
- The simultaneous release of A BEST 2 -BLACK- and A BEST 2 -WHITE- made Ayu the first woman since 1970 to hold both the number one and number two spot on the Oricon Chart.
- Although producer Max Matsuura has praised Ayu's involvement as being on par with any producer, A BEST 2's concert and documentary DVDs marked Ayu's first formal producing credit.
- glitter/fated became Ayu's 28th single to hit number one on the Oricon Charts, tieing the record for most number ones by a female artist first set by Akina Nakamori in 1990.
